Of bygone days.

The pitter-patter of rain
On a hot tin roof.
Eyes closed,
Arms wide,
Facing heavenwards.
That first taste of a raindrop
And the petrichor sweet.
A steady stream now flows
Down the busy street.
Paper boats, floating dreams,
Tyres and sticks.
Ignorance or innocence?
Childhood never speaks.
